Josh Cote Travels to South Africa to Speak at Entrepreneur Convention
Josh Cote Travels to South Africa to Speak at Entrepreneur Convention UK Business owner and Entrepreneur Josh Cote was invited to speak at events in Cape Town and Johannesburg to further promote entrepreneurship in South Africa.
The South Africa Entrepreneur Convention took place at the Bayside Hotel in Cape Town and the Johannesburg Sandton Convention Centre.
Entrepreneur Josh Cote was announced as the keynote speaker at the events which drew more than 1500 attendees. The event was set up to drive entrepreneurship in South Africa, a country that produces a disproportionate number of business owners for an economy of its size. The South African Institute for Entrepreneurship was developed in 1996 to provide literacy training materials for small business owners and has contributed to the increased interest in small business enterprises. ‘There is much hype in the media suggesting entrepreneurship contributes to economic growth. I certainly believe self-employment and business development can provide opportunities even during economic hard times so it has been brilliant to speak here in South Africa where starting a business is really encouraged’ says Josh Cote.
Josh Cote spoke for 45min in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, addressing the country’s economic issues; he offered advice on some of the advantages small business owners have in a turbulent economy. ‘Large corporations can be slow to react in changing conditions, this is an area budding entrepreneurs can very easily progress in due to their operations being small and easier to evolve. Find a gap in your ideal market and take the leap into entrepreneurship’ adds Josh Cote.
In every crisis lies an opportunity and, as Sir Richard Branson says, “Fortunes are made out of recessions. A lot of entrepreneurs get going in the economic depths because the barriers to entry are lower.”
The full day Convention offered advice on financial planning, time management, supplier and customer relationships in addition to the economic and business development topics covered by Josh Cote. ‘Each and every speaker at this event was phenomenal, I think the attendees will have taken some notes and I hope to see some new and exciting enterprises born off the back of this event’ adds Josh Cote.
Entrepreneur Josh Cote has been asked to return to South Africa to speak at the 2013 Entrepreneur Convention.← Back to Press Releases
