Employment opportunities are still scarce 4 years after the world entered a recession. Josh Cote last week announced his support of what USA Today refers to as the Self-Employment Revolution.
The average person’s lifestyle differs significantly since the last economic downfall which took place from 1990-1992. More people work jobs outside of the traditional 9 to 5 hours, the Internet has fuelled a whole new job sector with online businesses, and the need for more flexibility in the work place due to outside responsibilities as risen. Self-Employment for many is the answer to all of these issues.
Josh Cote believes entrepreneurship is a perfect way to overcome unemployment while allowing for the flexibility needed in this day and age. Starting his first business over 10 years ago in the USA, entrepreneur Josh Cote relocated to the UK in early 2007 to fill a growing demand for outsourced sales. His business EA Worldwide has seen unprecedented growth though the recent recession. ‘Choosing to start my own business is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I now heavily promote self-employment and mentor aspiring entrepreneurs as I think deciding to take control of your own future particularly while the economy is suffering is courageous. The Self-Employment Revolution can be observed as an inspirational period in time. With 2012 being promoted as ‘The Year of the Entrepreneur’, more individuals should be encouraged to take that leap into self employment. Josh Cote comments further ‘It is a great time for people to make their dreams a reality. The past few years we have seen a lot of hype around entrepreneurship through TV programs such as Dragons Den and BBC’s The Apprentice, hopefully these shows give everyday people the confidence to know that anyone can be successful if they have the right mentality and drive.’
