New figures released by StartUp Britain has demonstrated that the UK continues to thrive as an entrepreneurial hub as new business startup figures continued to rise in the first half of 2016. Up to 31st June 2016, (according to Companies House) 342,927 new companies have been set up in the UK, which equates to 80 new companies every hour. This is up on 2015, which saw a total of 608,110 new businesses, equating to 70 new companies being incorporated every hour.
London continues to perform strongly as an entrepreneurial city; with 109,443 new companies being incorporated in the first half of this year. The capital is on course to beat the 196,146 companies that were set up in 2015 by over 10%.
